Soundclash

November 2025 sees the My debut EP release Soundclash: An exciting new work for cello and electronics, exploring the possibilities of merging seemingly disparate musical traditions.  

The piece started life as ‘Reverie’ – a dark, dreamy exploration of dreams for solo violin. Soundclash warps and mangles the original piece using FX commonly found in dub music. Then,  taking percussive techniques that appear in the original, it re-purposes them in to blistering, jungle-style beats which the brilliant cellist Cecilia improvises over.

I worked closely with Cecilia Bignall to develop ideas for the work, first premiered at the gig-night I curated with nonclassical in 2021. Released by Nonclassical. Full score available for download. Audio files available on request.
