Gods of the Game

he first opera commissioned for television in over 20 years, Gods of the Game tells the story of two footballing icons tackling the sport’s nefarious underbelly of bribery and corruption, all overseen by the game’s charismatic and all-powerful president.

Commissioned by Sky Arts, starring actor and comedian Lee Mack in the commentary box, Gods of the Game is a glorious celebration and a bitter condemnation of the world’s most popular sport.

Featuring music by Blasio Kavuma, Julian Phillips, Abel-Esbenshade, Lucy Armstrong and Aaron O’Grady. Produced by Factory Films with Grange Park Opera for Sky Arts.
